Instructions for Use

  1. Assemble the HoLEP Morcellator System and connect the foot pedal, headpiece, silicone tubing, tissue collection bottle, and waste liquid bottle. 
  2. Select the appropriate 24 Fr or 26 Fr morcelloscope sheath and insert the telescope with the passive laser working element. 
  3. Connect the morcellator handpiece to the control unit and verify proper suction and blade operation. 
  4. After completing prostate enucleation, introduce the morcelloscope into the bladder under continuous endoscopic visualization. 
  5. Activate the morcellator using the foot pedal and carefully engage the enucleated prostate tissue for controlled morcellation. 
  6. Maintain continuous irrigation and suction throughout the procedure to ensure a clear surgical field. 
  7. Continue tissue morcellation until all enucleated tissue has been collected in the tissue collection bottle. 
  8. Deactivate the system, remove the morcelloscope, and inspect the bladder endoscopically before completing the procedure. 
  9. Clean, disinfect, and sterilize all reusable components according to the manufacturer’s instructions. 
  10. Inspect the system before storage to ensure it is ready for the next surgical procedure.
